The role of the Internal Audit and Risk Management (“IA & RM”) is to assess the risks faced by our clients which may prevent them from achieving their objectives and provide practical recommendations to our clients for their implementation.
The key responsibilities of the Junior Consultant are:
1. Work as part of the team serving clients on projects including:
Assisting the IA & RM Team in discussions with clients to understand policies, processes, and practices;
Assessing client's practices and records to identify gaps and risks, and thereafter provide recommendations to address such gaps/risks; and
Drafting selected sections of report(s) covering gaps/risks and recommendations.
2. Dealing extensively with concepts including:
Governance and corporate governance;
Ethical business practices including anti-corruption; and
Risk management and internal control.
3. Your work will involve a lot of reading and applying the requirements, principles, or practices relevant to local and international codes, frameworks, and guides, such as:
certain chapters of the Listing Requirements of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad;
certain sections of the applicable laws (e.g. Companies Act 2016, Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994, and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009);
the Malaysian Code on Corporate Governance (as at 28 April 2021);
the Corporate Governance Guide (4th Edition) of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad;
the Sustainability Reporting Guide (3rd Edition) of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad;
Statement on Risk Management & Internal Controls (Guidelines for Directors of Listed Issuers); and
the Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards.
You will not be expected to be well-versed in the above-mentioned topics when applying for this role. You will be provided guidance and we will work together to develop the team’s expertise in these fields.

1. As a sustainability/ ESG consultant, you will be working with our Sustainability Team to:
research and develop policies and procedures for our clients;
draft sustainability statements for publicly listed companies; and
provide advice to clients on sustainability/ ESG matters, including on the application of reporting standards (e.g. GRI Standards, TCFD Recommendations, SASB, etc.).
2. You will be dealing extensively with concepts including:
ESG - environmental, social, and governance issues;
climate change, carbon emissions and reduction, carbon accounting;
human rights, labour standards; and
corporate governance.
3. Your work will involve a fair amount of reading and application of standards, reporting frameworks, etc, such as:
GRI Standards;
GHG Protocol;
TCFD Recommendations;
<IR> Framework; and
relevant laws, regulations, or reporting standards on sustainability/ ESG reporting.
You are not expected to be well-versed in the above-mentioned topics when applying for this role. You will be provided guidance and we will work together to develop the team’s expertise in these fields.
Nature of work
What your daily work life will be like (note: indicative only):
Approximately 80-90% of your time you will be working from home; 10-20% of the time we will be visiting our clients
As a junior consultant, you will be guided by your team and you will be spending:
approximately 30-50% of the time reading and doing research;
approximately 20-30% of the time performing data (quantitative and qualitative) treatment and analysis; and
approximately 30-50% of the time writing reports, preparing presentation materials, or work papers.
